MRI of Three Spine Sections

MRI of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine is one of the most accurate, safe, and non-invasive diagnostic methods for evaluating the condition of the vertebral column. Modern MRI scanners used in our clinic allow detailed visualization of vertebrae, intervertebral discs, spinal cord, nerve roots, surrounding soft tissues, and blood vessels. The method helps to detect degenerative, inflammatory, traumatic, and oncological pathologies even at early stages.

What the Examination Shows

  • degenerative and dystrophic changes (osteochondrosis, disc protrusion);
  • herniated discs and compression of nerve roots;
  • inflammatory and infectious lesions;
  • spinal cord compression and vascular disorders;
  • post-traumatic changes, fractures, soft tissue injuries;
  • tumors, metastases, cysts, and other mass-like lesions;
  • areas of impaired blood flow and edema;
  • congenital anomalies of spine development.

When MRI of Three Spine Sections Is Recommended

  • severe or chronic back pain of unknown origin;
  • numbness or weakness in arms or legs;
  • frequent fainting or imbalance;
  • tinnitus, dizziness, visual or hearing impairment;
  • restricted mobility of the spine;
  • suspicion of oncology or metastases;
  • pre-surgical assessment and postoperative monitoring.

How the Procedure Is Performed

MRI is painless and safe. The patient lies on the MRI table and must remain still to obtain high-quality images. Mild fixation may be used to avoid accidental movements. The average duration of the examination is 30–40 minutes. Two-way communication with the technician is maintained throughout the procedure.
