MRI of the Cervical Spine

MRI of the cervical spine is a highly accurate and safe method used to evaluate vertebrae, intervertebral discs, spinal cord, soft tissues, blood vessels, and nerve roots. The technique allows early detection of degenerative, inflammatory, traumatic, and oncological conditions.

What MRI Reveals

  • degenerative changes (osteochondrosis, disc protrusion, herniation);
  • spinal cord compression;
  • nerve root impingement;
  • inflammatory or infectious processes;
  • fractures, dislocations, soft tissue trauma;
  • benign and malignant tumors;
  • congenital anomalies and curvature disorders.

Indications

  • frequent headaches or dizziness;
  • neck and occipital pain;
  • numbness or weakness in the arms;
  • hearing loss, tinnitus;
  • visual disturbances;
  • coordination disorders;
  • neck cracking during movement;
  • post-traumatic assessment.

How the Procedure Is Performed

The patient lies on the MRI table while the head is gently fixed. No special preparation is required. It is important to remain still during scanning. Two-way communication with the operator is maintained throughout the procedure.
