CT with Contrast Enhancement

Contrast‑enhanced CT is an informative diagnostic method that delivers maximally clear images of internal organs, vessels and soft tissues. Iodinated contrast enables assessment of organ structure, perfusion, tumors, inflammation and post‑traumatic changes. The examination is performed on CT Philips Brilliance 64.

Indications

• Suspected oncologic or surgical pathology.
• Brain and skull‑base tumors.
• Abdominal organ neoplasms.
• Thoracic malignancies.
• Malignant bone and soft‑tissue tumors.
• Liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma; lymphomas.
• Aneurysms, thrombosis, vascular stenosis; atherosclerosis.
• Post‑operative follow‑up and vascular lesion clarification.

What does it show?

• Tumors and focal lesions; vascular characteristics.
• Resectability and anatomic boundaries.
• Oncologic staging; metastasis detection.
• Vascular status: aneurysms, stenoses, thrombi.
• Inflammation and post‑surgical/traumatic complications.

Preparation and safety

• IV catheter placed; contrast administered via automated injector.
• Volume depends on body weight (approximately 50–150 ml).
• Creatinine test recommended; inform us about allergies/comorbidities.
• Oral or rectal contrast may be used for GI studies.
• Modern agents are well tolerated; mild reactions handled with antihistamines.

Procedure

• Intravenous contrast delivered via automated injector.
• Short breath‑holds may be required.
• Combined oral/rectal contrast used for GI when indicated.

• Low‑dose protocols; multiphasic and 3D reconstructions.
